Early Career Framework

Early Career Framework Facilitators

The Early Career Framework is delivered by a team of local facilitators, most of whom work in partner primary, secondary and special schools. All facilitators receive training as part of their role and will work with a co-facilitator to deliver the online and face-to-face ECF training sessions. If you are interested in the role please download the application pack to find out more. Do feel free to contact us at info@otsa.org.uk if you'd like to discuss the role in more detail.

OTSH ECF and Statutory ECT Induction Combined Handbook

The Early Career Framework and Statutory Induction are separate, but interlinked, processes. The aim of this combined handbook is to ensure that you have access to all the key information and guidance in one place, although parts A, B and C may be read independently of each other.

Part A contains information about elements that are relevant to both the Early Career Framework and Statutory Induction.

Part B is the ECT Induction Handbook (Statutory Induction with the Appropriate Body)

Part C is the ECF Programme Handbook (Professional Development for ECTs and Mentors with the Teaching School Hub and University College London)

What is the early career framework?

The early career framework is a funded entitlement to a structured 2-year package of high quality professional development. The reforms are part of the government’s teacher recruitment and retention strategy, which aims to improve the training and development opportunities available to teachers.

The early career framework is the evidence base which underpins this new entitlement for early career teachers’ professional development. It sets out what all early career teachers should learn about and learn how to do during the first 2 years of their careers.
